The first ever Climate Change Youth Summit will take place on the 23rd of November in Eastbourne. 100 students from schools in East Sussex and Rouen will be involved.
The Waste in Action Pebsham Landfill Walk was opened to school groups by Councillor Matthew Lock and pupils from Pebsham Community Primary School have been the first to explore it.
In October 2010 the fourth Waste in Action Steering Group took place in East Sussex. Project partners met for three days of meetings and technical visits.
The composting Rocket is now working extremely effectively with an excellent composted product exiting the machine at the clean end. Temperatures in the machine are high, generated by the breakdown of the material under microbial action. The material proceeds through the machine in approximately 7-10 days.
Within the scope of the project "Waste in Action", a British delegation came to Rouen from 17th to 19th March 2010 in order to attend the 3rd steering committee meeting. The nine members of the delegation who were welcomed by SMEDAR's Chairman, Patrice Dupray, gave a progress report of the different ongoing projects with their French colleagues.
